CHAPTER 4 –
Visualization - Imaging
As pointed out in a previous chapter, every thought or idea, whether it
was brought on by internal or external consciousness, causes a physical
stimulus in some way or another within the physical body.
Practice visualization, and project your best
self-image,
every day in the way you look, walk, talk, listen, and react. Norman
Vincent Peale in
his Book Positive Imaging : advocated strong imagery to
succeed too ones potential
The subconscious mind will follow through and
recognises predominant images and desires. It assimilates them and
organises them into an infallible plan to enable the conscious mind to
attain a predominant desire.
For example, if you were feeding your subconscious mind negative images
and thoughts, such as poverty, disease, failure, destitution, then the
subconscious
would carry out the plan. If on the other hand you fed it with positive
thoughts
such as wealth, fame, success
and good fortune, then the subconscious mind would loyally carry this
out
for your attainment.
Visualising for some people can be
like trying to tune into a broken down television, to be able to
visualise clearly, may take practice. This is where the conscious mind
can help, the brain
like any other muscle needs strengthening and this can only be done by
practice. Try this, close your eyes and imagine a white horse, now
watch it gallop away, stop and then come back to you, watch it rear up
and then turn into a pink horse, then a black one, then back to white
with black spots. Practice this type of imagined images over and over
again, the picture will become much clearer.
Program your subconscious mind with clear pictures of what you desire
as if they are already in existence. This is for your future, wealth
and happiness, as the subconscious mind is the overriding master of all
our
subjective thoughts and actions, we can fool the conscious mind into
believing
what it is led to believe. For example if you consciously act
enthusiastic
(even if your are not) about a certain job or chore, you will certainly
become enthusiastic and it then becomes a joy.
The ego within one self can also be boosted by conscious thoughts, "If
you dress the part you become the part," is an old saying. Women in
particular can get a lift out of a hair do, or dressing up in best
clothing can bring a spring back into a step. On the other hand if you
dress like a tramp
or act as if your down and out, you become one.
Theodore Roosevelt A former American president once
said, "There were all kinds of things I was afraid of at first but by
acting
as if I was not afraid, I gradually ceased to be afraid."
Goethe a philosopher from the last
century wrote, "What ever you can do or dream you can do, begin it.
Boldness has genius,
Power and Magic in it."
The famous author of "Think and Grow Rich" Napoleon Hill wrote "What a man truly believes
he can accomplish, he then can truly become"
Thomas Edison American inventor, probably the
greatest of all time with over 1,300 patents to his name once said "Be careful what you set your
heart and mind on, for it surely will be yours”
Emerson One of America greatest
Philosophers said "A man is what he thinks
about all day long." and " Judge
of your natural character by what you do in your dreams."
Chanting a suggestion over and
over
can also change the subconscious mind.
Emile
Coue a French
chemist became famous for the phrase "Each and every day I am getting
better and better" He would tell his patients to say this over and over
and with astonishing results. Thousands flocked to his clinic in Nancy
France, he called this chanting phenomena autosuggestion, whereby the
patient cured himself through positive imaging and suggestions. See-self-suggestion.com
What you imagine as being real,
with frequency, becomes your own version of reality. Imagine and
fantasise that person you would most like to become-and the self-image
reads the script, memorises it and acts accordingly.
To think what you want to think is
to visualize your true expectancy, regardless of appearances. Every man
has the natural and inherent power to think what he wants to think, but
it requires far more conscious effort to do this, than it does to
simply think the
thoughts, which are not compulsory by appearances. To think according
to
exterior thoughts is easy; to think truth regardless of appearances is
difficult,
and requires the expenditure of more power than any other man is called
upon to perform.
There is no toil from which
most people minimize as they do from that of sustained and consecutive
thought; it is the hardest work in the world. This is especially true
when truth is contrary to appearances. Every appearance in the visible
world tends to produce a
corresponding structure in the mind. Wallace D Wattles
To look upon the appearance of
disease will produce the form of disease in your own mind, and
ultimately in your body, unless you hold the thought of the truth,
which is that there is
no disease; it is only an appearance, and the reality is health.
To look upon the appearances of
poverty will produce corresponding forms in your own mind, unless you
hold to the truth that there is no poverty; there is only abundance. To
think health when surrounded by the appearances of disease, or to think
riches when in the midst of appearances of poverty, requires power; but
those who acquires this power becomes a MASTER MIND. He can conquer
fate; he can have what
he wants in this life.
